Prof. Igor O. Fritsky
Expertise: Synthetic coordination chemistry, structural chemistry, spectroscopy, magnetochemistry.
Role: Development of synthetic methods for chlathrochelate compounds based on oxalodihydrazide family ligands, identification and characterization of the obtained compounds. Processing of data of magneto chemical measurements.
Overall supervising of the TSNUK group.
Faculty of Chemistry of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev is one of the leading and well known research organization in the field of physical, coordination and bioinorganic chemistry in Ukraine. The group of Prof. Igor O Fritsky has a long experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, magnetochemistry, and biomimetic catalysis.
The participants from TSNUK group have experience in synthetic coordination chemistry (including all stages of synthesis of coordination compounds, starting from ligands design and synthesis, various methods of synthesis of coordination compounds, methods of their isolation and purification, identification and analysis, growing of single crystals of metal complexes), structural chemistry (single crystal structure solution and refinement), and in several kinds of spectroscopy. Particularly, for many years the team dealt with the development of synthetic methods for macrocyclic and chlathrochelate compounds based on oxalodihydrazide family ligands, identification and characterization of the obtained compounds, determination of their molecular and crystal structure, identification and physico-chemical characterization. The group is also experienced in metal-bioligands speciation study in solutions, synthesis of model coordination compounds mimicking active sites of metalloenzymes, in magnetochemical and electrochemical methods of studying coordination compounds and nanomaterials.
The TSNUK group has extensive and successful long-term collaborative links with several well-known laboratories from the EU. In particular, more than 15-years long cooperation with UWR, University of Joensuu (Finland), University of Göttingen (Germany), and University of Heidelberg, (Germany).
The TSNUK team is actively involved in various international collaborations (both bilateral and network) with EU partners which were supported by NATO, EC (COST D8 and D21), DAAD, DFG, the Swedish Institute, the Royal Society of Chemistry).
